The Worship Pastor is responsible for leading and developing the worship ministry, creating an engaging, Christ-centered worship environment that aligns with the church’s vision and theology. This role involves spiritual leadership, team development, service planning, and musical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Worship Leadership

Plan and lead worship services (weekly, special services, events)

Select songs that align with sermon themes and church doctrine

Lead congregation in meaningful and authentic worship experiences

Coordinate rehearsals and ensure service readiness
2. Team Development

Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members (musicians, vocalists, tech team)

Build a healthy, spiritually grounded worship culture

Schedule volunteers and manage team rotations
-
Provide ongoing feedback and spiritual guidance
3. Service Planning & Coordination

Collaborate with Senior Pastor and ministry leaders for service flow

Prepare setlists, arrangements, and transitions

Oversee audio/visual and technical aspects of worship services

Ensure excellence in execution during services
4. Spiritual Leadership

Serve as a spiritual role model for the congregation and team

Lead devotionals, prayer times, and discipleship within the worship team

Encourage a lifestyle of worship beyond the stage
5. Administrative Duties

Manage worship ministry budget (if applicable)

Maintain worship equipment and resources

Organize music library and licensing compliance

Use worship planning tools/software (e.g., Planning Center)
Qualifications
Spiritual & Character

Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Demonstrated spiritual maturity and integrity
Skills & Experience

Proven experience in leading worship in a church setting

Strong vocal and/or instrumental proficiency

Ability to lead both contemporary and traditional worship styles (if required)

Experience with worship tech (sound systems, presentation software)
