Job description

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS OF EMPLOYEE:

  • A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ who supports and upholds Wild Ops statement of faith.
  • Maintains a positive and respectful attitude, acting as a role model within and outside the ministry.
  • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Interacts positively and professionally with Wild Ops staff, leaders, Board of Directors, volunteers, donors and vendors.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning / Development

  • Ensure that the flow of funds permits Wild Ops to make continuous progress towards the achievement of its vision and that those funds are allocated properly to reflect present needs and future potential.
  • Help formulate marketing, branding and development strategies that will enhance revenue from major donors, foundations, churches, government agencies, and corporations.
  • Establish targeted funding goals based on sound analysis of present and future needs of partner initiatives.
  • Capably represent Wild Ops events, and Wild Ops programs effectively to churches, organizations, foundations and individuals.
  • Regularly maintain relationships with existing partners; identify and secure new funding opportunities for the long-term stability of the organization.

 

Infrastructure and operations

  • Lead the organization in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission
  • Oversee the financial health of the organization including developing long- and short-range financial plans, monitoring the budget and ensuring sound financial controls are in place; set financial priorities accurately to ensure Wild Ops is operating in a manner that supports the needs of the program and staff.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality programs while managing for current and future growth.
  • Create and maintain a positive spiritual and working environment for Wild Ops staff.
  • Directly oversee staff, leadership and development operations to provide for ongoing ministry operations.
  • Facilitate cross-integration throughout the organization; create and promote a positive, integrated work environment that supports consistency throughout the organization's strategy, operational methods, and data collection needs.
  • Evaluate ministry opportunities and partnerships for ongoing or future projects, ensuring programmatic efficiencies and consistency across the board.
  • Monitor partner programs’ effectiveness with an eye towards establishing clear performance milestones and utilizing methods that allow for measurable results.
  • Attends Annual Leadership Summit
  • Manages and Oversees the efforts of the Development, Diversity, Vetting, Prayer, Media and Alumni teams
  • Attends and Leads in-person semi-annual Board of Directors Meetings
  • Serve as a spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the public
  • Responsible for the approval of all communications on behalf of the organization
  • Enhance the organization’s image by being active and visible in the community and working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations
  • Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.

  • Donor relations and fundraising skills, able to effectively engage with existing donors and cultivate new ones.
  • Management and leadership skills.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail; strong financial management, budgeting and reporting skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with the Board of Directors and to ensure their ongoing development and engagement.
  • Understanding of non-profit organizations leadership and management.
  • Able to manage a diverse team that is operating remotely.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Nonprofit management experience preferred.
  • High level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and donors.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
  • Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new revenue streams and improve financial results
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organization skills, and time management
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Display the utmost level of integrity
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products including Excel, Power Point, and Word, as well as Google Workspace.
  • Knowledge of a donor software system preferred

Wild Ops objective is to identify isolated veterans and bring them together in a joint mission of outdoor adventure and fellowship and ultimately, faith in Christ. While each Op is unique, our mission for every operation is the same – facilitate the healing of scars that exist among combat veterans.
